Happy Friday everyone! These are photos of the room where our family spends time together before heading up to bed. I posted these on HGTV's Rate My Space last month and received both good and not so good comments from the visitors.
I was honored(and a little surprised) to have made the top 3 highest rated spaces for a couple of weeks. I've since removed the photos of my spaces from the popular site as (in my opinion) most of its visitors preferred younger and more modern surroundings. I felt out of place.
In fact, modern seems to be the network's main focus as oppose to the traditional styles it showcased with its debut shows that included Chris Madden & Joe Ruggiero. Those were my favorites because of their appreciation for classic traditional designs.
Oh well, such is life. As always, thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful and stress free weekend.

I do not know how anybody could have a negative response to this room. I would go any read the comments but I do not like the rate my space because it just seems too slow whenever I try to look at rooms. I rate it five stars only because I don't think they let you go any hire. MB

Whoever gave you negative comments, Julio, are just jealous. Your family room should be a 10, not just a 5. It's really pretty. I love how you are able to use the fireplace both inside and the outside and the view of the fountain looks relaxing. I would love to see your whole house. I can't fathom what fault people could find with this room - it's totally charming. Very warm and welcoming, while still being elegant and refined.
I wish our condo could accommodate that kind of design! It's just too small - we have to go modern. LOL An average size traditional sofa would fill our living room LOL

What a fabulous home. However, I can imagine why some would criticize this room and that could only be because they lack the education and the sophistication for appreciation of formal aesthetics. This room possesses an atmosphere of traditional meets contemporary in a way that brings a harmonious medium to both desires. I said well done Julio.

Hi Julio, catching up on my blog reading now that the wedding is done. Oh my how could anyone not LOVE this room!? It is to die for for me but then I am a classical or traditional kind of gal. Stunning and how the french doors open to the court yard, amazing.
