Inspirations For Traditional Living...15 Place Vendome

The world famous Ritz Paris hotel founded by Cesar Ritz and chef Auguste Escoffier in 1898 is scheduled to close its doors for a projected 27 months this July 2012 to embark on what the hotel is calling an "unprecedented" renovation.
The last such major renovation was in 1979.  Despite receiving continued high marks from travel critics and its guests( i.e. TripadvisorVirtual Tourist), the hotel was recently overlooked in France's Ministry of Tourism "palace" designation award. An important recognition for which it had a long history of being a top honoree for many years.  The designer selected to oversee the project is the talented Thierry W. Despont.

Below are some beautiful photos taken of 2 of the 6 prestigious suites being offered at the Ritz Paris hotel which are designed in the classicism style.  Truly opulent and sophisticated interiors which are a great inspiration for those of us that adore the timeless look of past centuries.  It's hard to believe these spaces needing a renovation.

Those rooms are amazing! I have always dreamed of staying in the Coco suite. It's unbelievable to think it will be closed for such a long time. How can they improve on such beauty, I look forward to seeing the end result!
Hope all is well with you and your family Julio!
All My Best,
Judy

Such stunning rooms. I love the trim on all the drapes! We have a ton of trim on our site and it's so much fun to imagine where it could go! If I were trim, I'd love to end up in one of these suites.

Beautiful rooms. It is great to see such fine work appreciated. I am an Irish artist now living in Hamilton, Ontario. I detail paint wall panels, cornice mouldings and centerpieces in the "Old European Style" or "Robert Adam"(1728-1792) way of enhancing the various elements of the moulding with colour. Please visit my web-page www.apbpainting.net I would love to be a part of a project requiring my skill. Willing to go where my work takes me.
