House Hunters Northern California
After months of searching for the ideal vacation home, we finally decided this home might be the one. Our Realtor will be submitting an offer after the Thanksgiving holiday. I will keep you posted.
This Austin Creek frontage property is located in Cazadero, California. A 2 hours drive from Sacramento and 1 1/2 hours drive from San Francisco. We were attracted to the open living concept and the floor to ceiling windows offering great views of the redwood trees and creek.
The home has 1 large master bedroom and 1 full bathroom.
It also has a detached guest cabana that can be used as a 2nd bedroom. However, there is plenty of room for growth and as usual, we have great ambitions to optimize the home.
Another great feature is the large wrap around porch nestled in the redwoods and looking onto the creek.
The home has beautiful wood floors throughout with a vintage brick wall showcasing the fireplace.
The master bedroom door is just to the left of the glass sliding doors(shown left)which lead out to the deck.
The spacious bedroom, with more glass doors at the foot of the bed, opens onto the deck.
The Kitchen area which includes a refrigerator and electric cook top and wall oven.

A Jacuzzi with an outdoor shower
Detached cabana about 20 feet away from the Master bedroom.

The next photos were taken with my phone camera the first time we visited the home.

What's also great about the location of the property is that aside from the close access to the Russian River, it is only 10 miles from the Pacific coast hwy 1 lined with several beaches along the way to Bodega Bay. A breathtaking coastal drive.
In addition to the water options, it is located in Sonoma County and there are plenty of wineries to visit.
A pathway from the house leading to the creek. When the creek dries up in mid August, it makes for a great stroll down to a private beach on the river.
There is even a large tree deck equipped with power. Little Daniel immediately fell in love with the deck and did not want to come down. I began imagining him growing up with wonderful childhood memories sitting there looking out onto the creek.

I love this view. I can see us sitting there in the morning with a cup of coffee or even at dawn with a glass of wine.
I hope you enjoyed the brief tour of this property and will visit again for updates. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.
